ScrantonCoin — History

ScrantonCoin began in Fall 2018 as an educational experiment created by Dr. Ahmed Gomaa. It was designed as a campus-scale model to explore how a local digital currency can support student engagement, peer exchange, and local business participation—all recorded on a public blockchain trail.

What ScrantonCoin Is Now

Today, ScrantonCoin operates as an independent educational ecosystem centered on the Decision Lab teaching simulation:

Earn -> Transfer -> Spend -> Reflect
